Here’s a nifty little Mario game from Buziol that is much better than the rest of the Mario collection- better graphics, sound and gameplay. If you are a Mario fan, you will surely notice the difference- No more DOS game where you just need to get to the end to win. Even though this game hardly has a different story (the princess getting captured and you having to save her), which is a dumb one too, it will keep you engaged with its well designed levels and varying characters. The secrets are in abundance even when compared to many other Mario games and this is one thing that will keep you trying even after you win the game.
Even though the games levels aren’t in abundance, the difficulty is unforgiving, and you may occasionally want to cheat. However, a bit of perseverance can really pay off.
The graphics are decent enough for such a game and it’s not too taxing on your system’s resources either except when you run many applications together. However, it may appear a bit grainy on large screens and the visual appeal is slightly below average. The sound is old school Mario with more pep and additional tunes which are good for such games.
There are eight worlds and some ‘hidden’ worlds too. The latest is version 4.4which contains a level editor too). There is a human laboratory world which is a ‘bit’ funny, a lost map world that’ll drive you crazy, Mario minix which is like an arcade game and a funny tanks world too which you can try if you think you are tired of living. Hardcore 1 and 2 are also available but you have to find them.
