If you were present last time I posted, you would have seen a part dedicated to netbooks. Why was this so? Well, considering the fact that netbooks are cheap and are getting more popular and popular, you could get yourself a good deal on one. How?
Netbooks were meant for being a master of one trade but have now become jacks of all trades. Even then, netbooks are meant for light uses such as browsing the web, listening to music, editing documents and in some cases, watching the odd movie. As he trend for notebooks continues, they are becoming smaller and smaller.
However, to get down on some non-serious gaming means you must not follow the trend. Get yourself a bigger netbook with at least a 13 inch screen which is windows based. There are some Linux games like Frets on Fire but the number of windows games far outweighs the amount of Linux games. Windows XP is a good OS for gaming. Make sure there is sufficient Hard Disk Space. 120 GB could be overkill sometimes. You usually will need only 80GB if you’re buying the netbook solely for gaming purposes. Remember however that playing games with even ‘good’ graphics can put a toll on the netbook and you will find playing some paid games on the netbook next to impossible.
If you don’t want portable then you can buy something like a nettop. What a netbook is to a laptop, the nettop is to the desktop. Nettops are generally cheaper than netbooks. I, however feel that laptops are still a good idea because a lot of them have almost the same pricing as netbooks. But if you are really a pure gaming enthusiast-good for you-then you will find settling for anything other than a PC with a great configuration a ridiculous idea. This will make this post seem funny, annoying or useless to you in which case I should be apologizing to you. Really sorry, but not everyone out there wants (or more appropriately needs) more than a laptop for their ‘free’ gaming purposes. Do comment and tell me how you feel about this post.
